An intergenerational project’s closing production

The leading idea of the project is integration of the young people of Tarnów interested in dance, as well as starting a dialogue and cooperation between high school students and senior citizens as a response to the lack of natural space for intergenerational exchange in the city. The project started in May 2019 and will be completed in October. It comprises a series of educational events promoting dance, both theoretical, that is lectures and watching performances followed by discussion, and practical, that is workshops on modern dance, modern dance with classical elements, swing, and contact improvisation. The knowledge and skills learned by the participants are used to prepare a performance to be presented at the Mościce Arts Centre stage as part of the 9th International Dance Theatre Festival Open Stage. The theme of the performance is the changing values and habits characterising different generations.

• students from the I General Secondary School in Tarnów
• students from the II General and Secondary School in Tarnów
• students from the Technical and General Secondary School Complex in Wojnicz
• members of the “Senior na Czasie” association
